Downtown Tyler will be a beehive of Christmas season activities Thursday, and chief among them will be the quarterly ArtWalk hosted by the Downtown Tyler Arts Coalition.
Twenty-four artists from a variety of disciplines will exhibit their art at several downtown buildings and venues.
The ArtWalk and other events are all set for 4-8 p.m. throughout the downtown area. Admission to the ArtWalk is free.
Another free event is the Downtown Tyler Museums Holiday Open House. The Goodman-LeGrand Museum, Cotton Belt Depot, Discovery Science Place, Gallery Main Street and the McClendon House will all open their doors to the public from 4-8 p.m. Special holiday displays, reenactors, tours and more will be part of the museum tours.
The non-profit Heart of Tyler organization is hosting a tour of seven downtown residential spaces. Tickets for the tour are $10 each, and all proceeds go to Heart of Tyler, which has downtown revitalization as its mission. Tickets will be available at each tour venue. A map of the tour sites will be available at Gallery Main Street, 110 W. Erwin.
Liberty Hall will join in the festivities at 7 p.m. with a screening of “Miracle on 34th Street.” Tickets for that event are $5 each and will be available at the door.
