Blue Jeans and Ball Gowns Rescheduled

COVID19 has brought tremendous changes to life as we know it.  One of the major changes for East Texas CASA is the rescheduling of our upcoming fundraiser, Blue Jeans & Ball Gowns to July 31. I hope that you are familiar with this event and were excited to attend this year. If not, now you have an opportunity to do so.

Blue Jeans & Ball Gowns is our local version of “Dancing with the Stars”, we have 10 celebrity dance teams that work tirelessly to perfect an act, then compete on the evening of the event and the attendees get to vote on the winners. What you may not realize is that a large portion of East Texas CASA’s operating budget is generated from Blue Jeans & Ball Gowns. In fact, we are able to provide over 100 children with a CASA volunteer because of the money raised at this event.

That means, over 100 children will have an advocate to speak up for them in court, to ensure that they find a safe, forever home, that they receive the medical & educational support they need and most importantly, they will have someone to stand beside them, care for them and help them navigate through their time in the family protective system.

So, as you can see, it is really important that we do not lose the funding that comes from Blue Jeans & Ball Gowns. In fact, many experts are predicting that the number of child removals will increase dramatically once schools resume and we return to “normalcy”.

We will really need to be ready and have enough volunteers to work with these children removed from their homes for abuse or neglect. Please make plans to attend and support our rescheduled fundraiser, Blue Jeans and Ball Gowns on Friday, July 31 at Maude Cobb.

Tickets and sponsorships are still available at BlueJeansBallGowns.com or EastTexasCASA.org and we are always appreciative of silent auction donations.
