God uses many resources in healing.  Some are spiritual, such as prayer, love, faith and the laying on of hands.  Others come through the medium of medical science.
The International Order of St. Luke the Physician has invited the public to a prayer and healing conference titled, The Holy Spirit and You.  The Reverend Dr. Jack H. Sheffield and his wife Anna Marie will be teaching about healing and other aspects of healing through prayer at St. Michael and All Angels’ Church in Longview from Friday, September 23 through Sunday morning, September 25.
In 1973 this couple experienced a life-changing rebirth in Christ Jesus and His kingdom through the instilling of the Holy Spirit.  Jack has been a chaplain in the International Order of St. Luke since 1993.  He is currently director of Region 5, which covers six states.  He is author of three books, God’s Healing River, Under Healing Wings and The Genesis Seed.  He served as a parish priest, and later earned his doctorate in ministry.
He has been called “a gifted teacher with a strong leaning toward the prophetic.”  He has a delightful sense of humor, and can deliver the truth in a most winsome way.
Anna Marie graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biology and psychology from Texas State University.  She currently sits on the board of directors for the International Order of St. Luke the Physician.
They have been in the healing ministry nationally for more than thirty years.  They have established two local healing centers, one in their hometown of San Antonio.  The other, Bethsaida House, is in Columbus, Georgia.  Internationally, they lead conferences, retreats and workshops, and are leaders in the Order of St. Luke.
The conference will charge free admission, and there is no registration fee.  Freewill offerings will be accepted (and greatly appreciated) in order to defray the cost of holding the conference.  There will be a complimentary sandwich, salad and dessert supper Saturday evening.  The conference is an offering to the Body of Christ by St.Michael and All Angels’ Episcopal Church and the Order of St. Luke the Physician.  The church is located at 909 Reel Road, 75604 (off Pine Tree Road) in Longview.  (903) 759-2051.
