Good Shepherd Medical Center ClassiCare recently held a Medicare Fair for senior citizens in Longview and the surrounding areas.

According to Mary Retallack, coordinator of senior program at GSMC, the Fair which was put on by ClassiCare had several components including education. For example, the doctor discussed topics that are important to Seniors like shoulder or knee replacement. Retallack said ClassiCare also has a motivation component where their members travel to New York, Canada and other places. In addition, there is a ClassiCare fitness program for their members.

“The whole person through health and other activities is taken care off,” said Retallack. “The Fair is a resource where seniors can go and get information.”

Darlynn Jones brought her friend Margie Smith to see what Good Shepherd was offering. According to Jones she already attends GSMC Institute of Healthy Living and loves it.

Irene Gaylor and Clodine Lee also came to get more information on everything at the Fair. Besides, it gave them something different to do for the morning.
