The first full week in May is annually recognized as National Travel and Tourism Week, a tradition first celebrated in 1984. The front-line travel industry personnel in Longview for example, airport staff, hotel employees, restaurant, and retail workers interact with visitors daily.

This year in honor of this special week the Longview Convention and Visitors Bureau will recognize individuals who have given exemplary service in the hotel, restaurant or travel industry. The Hospitality Employee of the Year will be honored at a luncheon Wednesday, May 8 at Maude Cobb Convention Center.

The CVB will be hosting the luncheon for the members of the Longview Hospitality and Tourism Association. To participate and nominate your Hospitality Employee of the Year, log on to and enter the person’s name and place of employment.

For additional information regarding the Hospitality Employee of the Year nominations, call the Longview Convention and Visitors Bureau at 903.753-3281.
