Kilgore College’s Small Business Development Center has taken on Chuck Vanderbilt as its new business advisor. He will concentrate on new business start-ups throughout the six counties Kilgore College mainly serves. Vanderbilt will provide young and developing entrepreneurs the guidance and practical assistance that will allow them to develop careers in various fields of business. His main objectives are to assist his student/clients in opening new businesses, weather the competitive business environment, and mature their operations into prosperous and permanent firms.
As an established businessman himself, Vanderbilt is familiar with the challenges and obstacles facing aspiring business owners, and is skilled in how to overcome these hurdles–especially here in East Texas. He has managed business operations, worked in customer service, event planning, marketing, pricing strategy, sales and cash flows. He got started early in his entrepreneurial vocation.
As a student at Stephen F. Austin University he sat on the Board of Student Activities, which was tasked with planning, promoting and carrying out a multitude of events for students and local residents. Furthermore, he and his future brother-in-law worked their own business promoting music acts throughout East Texas. His value in his new position is unquestioned.
