The NAACP Longview Chapter recently installed 207 officers. The ceremony took place at Bethel Baptist Church. In addition, the rites celebrated the oldest civil rights organization’s quintessential history. The organization leaders asked attendees to support NAACP.
Reverend Lewis Thompson was the master of ceremony and Reverend H.Q Dickerson, the presiding elder of the Longview/Marshall CME churches keynoted the event. His topic was Bitter Times for Better Times. Furthermore, City Councilwoman District 3, Kasha Williams did the installation rites and Reverend Kevin Anthony gave the offertory prayers after which Branden Johnson the immediate past president passed the gavel to incoming president Reverend Lamar Jones.
