Longview Regional Medical Center (LRMC) has announced the hiring of Anthony Brooks as the facility’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO.) Brooks took over his position on January 18 after having served since 2012 as Assistant Chief Executive Officer of Fort Smith, Arkansas’ Sparks Health System, while also working as Chief Financial Officer at Sparks Medical Center in Van Buren, Arkansas. His ten years of hospital administration experience have left him well prepared for his new posting at LRMC.

“We are thrilled to have Anthony on board here at LRMC,” said Chief Executive Officer Casey Robertson. “Anthony’s friendly nature and his record of success will serve us well at LRMC.”

During his time in Van Buren, Brooks earned a reputation of being a vital resource not only to the hospital, but the entire community as he served with the chamber of commerce (COC) and other non-profit organizations. He worked as a selfless, skilled servant to all of Van Buren, helping with the Boys and Girls Club, the Van Buren Education Foundation, Crawford County Optimist Club and the COC’s strategic planning committee.

A native of Rowlett, Texas, Brooks took his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas State University, and his Masters in Business Administration from Webster University. He and wife Valerie have two children, aged seven and four.

“I am eager to take new responsibilities and challenges in my position to make LRMC as successful as it can be,” said Brooks. “I am also happy to be back in my home state of Texas.”

Like anyone filling the capacity of COO, Brooks has his work cut out for him. The hospital is a large, 230-bed facility employing 180 healthcare professionals. It is nationally recognized for providing top-notch cardiac and stroke treatment, winning numerous and various awards for the level of care it provides its patients.
