Partners in Prevention Mentoring Program provides youth, Kindergarten – 12th grade, with a caring, trained, adult friend to serve as a mentor to a young person needing guidance, support and encouragement.
It is a simple process to become a mentor. Contact Partners in Prevention to register for training and receive an information packet. You will be scheduled to attend a 2-hour training and will be asked to complete an application form, which includes information needed to conduct a criminal history background check. Once your criminal history is cleared, then you will be matched with a child in need of a mentor. Mentors are asked to attend three periodic update training sessions throughout the year.
The next New Mentor Training is scheduled for October 20th from 5:30-8:30pm. To register, please call 903-237-1019.
