The Wellness Pointe Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Carl I. Walters II. will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer of Wellness Pointe on March 12, 2012. Wellness Pointe is a Federally Qualified Health system providing integrated and comprehensive Family Practice, OB/GYN (with delivery), Dental, WIC, Mental Health, Pediatric, Family Planning and a multitude of Social Services for residents of Longview and the surrounding region. Last year Wellness Pointe produced over 47,900 patient encounters and we are committed to ensuring our valued patients always receive prompt, personalized, medically-appropriate and cost-effective health care services. Our health system’s geographical service area covers a city radius of over 20 miles and we are proud to be part of the nations Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) network which cumulatively provides core comprehensive primary care services for over 20 million low income and medically uninsured people across the country.
Mr. Walters brings over 26 years of For-Profit and Not-For-Profit health system executive leadership experience to the system. He has been recognized at the community and state level for his integrated health care delivery system organizational fiscal, operational, marketing and market share enhancement re-engineering expertise/accomplishments.
Some of his most recent executive assignments include serving as Vice-President, Mercy Medical Center (Williston, North Dakota), Chief Executive Officer, Tri City Community Health (Pasco, Washington), Chief Executive Officer, Alexian Brothers PACE Community Services Division (St. Louis, Missouri), Chief Operating Officer, St. Louis Connectcare (St. Louis, Missouri) and Divisional Practice Administrator, Utah Physician Services Division (Ogden, Utah).
Mr. Walters holds a B.S. in Hospital Administration (Weber State University, Ogden, Utah) and a Masters Degree in Organizational Management (University of Phoenix, Utah). He is a former U.S. Naval Officer (Medical Service Corp.) with U.S. Navy outpatient clinic command experience. He is the eldest son of retired U.S Air Force fighter pilot (Tuskegee Airman) Major Carl I and Betty Walters. He and his wife Jennifer are the proud parents of Carl I. Walters III. and Brigettee’ Bette’ Walters.
