The City of Tyler Parks and Recreation Department is seeking entries for the “2018 Life in Tyler” photography contest. Due to the recent inclement weather entries will be accepted between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., March 5-9 and two additional days, March 12-13.
Photos will be exhibited at the Rose Garden Center during the 2018 Azalea Trails, March 17 through 31.
Ribbons and prizes will be awarded for the Best of Show entry as well as first, second and third place for each category. Photo categories include:
- “Family and Friends Enjoying a Recreational Event”
- “Wildlife in a Tyler Park”
- “Family Time”
- “Historic Tyler”
- “Outdoor Events in Tyler”
- “Abstract Tyler”
- “Macro Tyler”
- “Birds in Tyler”
- “Flora and Fauna in Tyler”
Entry classifications are available for both amateur and professional photographers as well as separate age categories for adults and youth. Each entry must be matted and either 5”x7” or 8”x10” with the single flat matte no larger than 11”x14”. No foam board or double mattes allowed. A fee of $3 per photo and only two photos per category.
