Girls from ages 5 to 12 are invited to gather at the Tyler Public Library from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 17 for another meeting of the American Girl® Reading Club.

This year’s Reading Club meetings will highlight the American Girl® series of history mysteries. This Saturday’s meeting will feature the Felicity mystery book, “Lady Margaret’s Ghost”.  Growing up in Williamsburg in 1774, Felicity Merriman is as spirited and independent as the American colonies she lives in. She doesn’t believe in ghosts, but what else can explain the odd things that begin to happen once a box of family heirlooms arrives?

At each monthly meeting, girls explore history through foods, games, crafts and other activities suggested by an American Girl® book, heroine and historical era. Activities on Saturday will include a visit with guests in Colonial costume from the Mary Tyler Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

The American Girl®  Reading Club meets on the third Saturday of each month in the Library’s Taylor Auditorium, 201 S. College in downtown Tyler. The public is welcome and no prior registration or fees are required. For more information, call (903) 593-7323 or visit
