The City of Longview and Longview Dog Park, Inc. are encouraging residents to sponsor decorative fire hydrants at Stragent Dog Park, located at 121 Summers Drive adjacent to the Paul Boorman Trail. Individuals, families, businesses, and other organizations are invited to “Adopt-A-Hydrant” to benefit the park. Each hydrant may be sponsored for three years for a cost of $250, with proceeds going to help build sidewalks to connect the Stragent Dog Park entrances directly to the Paul Boorman Trail.
Thanks to the City of Longview Water Department, twenty “retired” fire hydrants have been made available for installation at both the large dog and small dog areas of the park. The hydrants have been powder coated and are ready for “adoption.”

To add creativity to the hydrants, adopters are invited to meet at the Stragent Dog Park for a decorating day to be held from 9:00 a.m. – Noon, Saturday, April 21. All paint supplies will be provided.
