The Longview High School (LHS) Lobos set a record by scoring 56 points in the first half alone in their conference opener with the Pine Tree Pirates. By the time the contest mercifully ended, LHS had ripped off a 66-13 victory in a very silent Pirate Stadium. Most of the fans were gone by halftime.
Despite playing just in the first half Lobo quarterback Dezmond Chumley drilled scoring passes to Tylan Miller, Jon Sorey and Antolio Carter for 61, 36 and 17 yards, respectively. Coming off the bench late in the second quarter reserve quarterback Cameron Castleberry closed out the first half scoring with a 54-yard TD shot to Sorey.
Lobo defenders picked off three Pine Tree aerials as Keenan Madden, Ameron Dean and Khalil Williams intercepted passes. Williams returned his theft 32 yards for a pick six.
