City of Longview Sanitation Division employee Cris Hudson took second place in a statewide driving competition and has qualified to compete at the national level. The annual “Road-E-O” competition, sponsored by the Texas Solid Waste Association of North America, allows sanitation truck operators the opportunity to showcase their maneuvering, parking and safety skills.
To make it to the state level, Ms. Hudson won the local Road-E-O competition hosted by the City of Longview Sanitation Division. At the statewide competition held in Denton, Cris placed 2nd and qualified to enter the International Road-E-O competition. The International Road-E-O will be held September 15 – 16, 2012, in Lexington, Kentucky.
Sanitation Division manager Dwayne Archer says, “Drivers from all over the state competed to show their skills in safely and efficiently operating a garbage truck. We are very proud that Cris represented Longview so well by placing 2nd place in this challenging competition.” The City of Longview congratulates Cris on a job well done and wishes her the best of luck as she represents Texas in the next competition.
