(Longview, TX) Blues vocalist Trudy Lynn’s album “Royal Oaks Blues Cafe” has hit Number 1 on the September 6 Billboard Chart of best selling blues albums, after only 6 weeks on the charts.
Lynn, along with collaborator Steve Krase, will be appearing at the 2014 T-Bone Walker Blues Fest on September 13.
A long-time blues festival favorite, Lynn has appeared at such events as the Chicago Blues Festival, Juneteenth Blues and Jazz Festival in Dallas, Monterey Bay Blues Festival, and the San Francisco Blues Festival, Following her appearance in Longview she will be playing the Lucerne Blues Festival, Lucerne, Switzerland, in November.
In “Royal Oaks Blues Cafe,” Lynn brings fresh life to songs originally performed by women blues singers during the 1920s, ‘30s and ‘40s.
Andrew Dansby, entertainment writer for the Houston Chronicle, says that the album is “the defining recording of Lynn’s career thus far. The Houston native has been performing for more than 50 years, but never before has the dynamic range of her voice been so sympathetically captured and brilliantly projected on record. She purrs, growls, whispers and blares the blues, with exquisite backing.”

All-day Saturday reserved seating is available online at www.tbonewalkerbluesfest.com. Tickets will also be sold at the convention center box office beginning at Noon on Friday.
